As the oldest mountains in Bulgaria, the Rodopi Mountains
are characterized with their rounded hills and slopes, making the resort
and the mountains in general perfect for beginners. But there are also
difficult ski runs like the Giant Slalom run which is an excellent exercise
even for advanced skiers.
The ski runs of Pamporovo are located between 1926 and 1450
m a.s.l. on the Northern, Eastern and Western slopes of Mount Snezhanka.
All major ski runs start from the peak of the mountain, where the high
TV transmission tower is located. Places for freerides are abundant in
the mountains, however we recommend using a local guide when going off-piste.
